Hi, I'm Allie!

Bio: I am your friendly neighborhood Health and Wellness Coach and Certified Peer Specialist in Mental Health.  My favorite food is cheese, I love naps, and I take several prescription medications every day for both my mental and physical health. I live in Atlanta with my two spoiled rescue cats Mabel and Melvin, where I spend time with my chosen family playing board games, eating on Buford Highway, going to farmers markets, and walking along to podcasts.

Professional Background: I graduated from Brown University with a BA in Political Science in 2011. I moved to Atlanta in 2014 and became a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) in Mental Health in 2021, where I had a fulfilling career being CPS training coordinator for Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network for 3 years.  It was the honor and privilege of a lifetime to train 600 CPS to support those living with mental health challenges. I love being a Certified Peer Specialist and using my lived experience to support others in their mental health recovery journeys.

Physical Health Challenges: I lived with many undiagnosed health conditions until I was in my late 20s. Today, I successfully manage narcolepsy, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), chronic migraine, and superventricular tachycardia (SVT). I am not a doctor, and I cannot give you medical advice. I am a Whole Health and Wellness Coach and a Certified Peer Specialist, and I can work with you on self-advocacy, improving your health literacy, and increasing your confidence in navigating the healthcare system.

Mental Health Challenges: I am in recovery from obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), treatment resistant depression (TRD), and borderline personality disorder (BPD).   Additionally, I have been in recovery from addiction to benzodiazapense for 17 years.  I am not a doctor, a therapist, or a counselor, therefore I cannot provide diagnosis, therapy, or counseling. What I do provide is coaching, empathy,  perspective, resources, and relevant skillsets like problem solving and self-advocacy.
